Literature Awards

Jnanpith Award

Highest literary award in India, which is conferred every year by Bhartiya Jnanpith to any one author (who writes in Indian Languages or in English) for their outstanding contribution towards literature. Amitav Ghosh is the first writer in English to win a Jnanpith Award.

At present, the award is only conferred for the works published in the last twenty years.

Sahitya Akademi Award
